Help Greenway help the environment.

Throughout the year Greenway Network sponsors and/or coordinates many volunteer opportunities for people of all ages and abilities.  From people who want to get muddy and work hard digging out tires or those who want a walk in the park picking up trash with their little ones, to those who want to assist with office tasks, help with registration or serve lunch. Every little bit makes a big difference.

We have opportunities that involve a few minutes or a few hours. Please remember to check with your school or place of employment about volunteer matches and volunteer days. Greenway Network staff will sign off on the appropriate documentation at the end of your participation. We are happy to work with school, community and corporate groups to develop a volunteer plan to meet your needs.

Mississippi River Plastics Pollution Launch

The purpose of this project is to identify what plastic is getting into the Mississippi River, how much there is and to figure out how best to reduce or eliminate it. It is part of a global project sponsored by the United Nations and the National Geographic Society to reduce ocean plastic pollution. You can help out by joining in one of the many clean up activities taking place across the region and by helping to collect the data needed by the scientists studying the problem.
