National Public Lands Day (NPLD) is the largest single-day volunteer event for public lands held across the United States each year on the fourth Saturday in September. Activities in the Confluence Region will take place on Saturday September 27, 2025.
Volunteers may be needed for planting, BioBlitz, and/or river clean-up. Greenway Network Conservation Teams and other volunteers often work on public lands near the confluence of the Mississippi and Missouri Rivers. The Cora Island Unit of the US Fish and Wildlife Big Muddy Refuge, the Missouri Dept. of Natural Resources Jones Confluence State Park, and the US Army Corps of Engineers Riverlands Migratory Bird Sanctuary need your help conserving and restoring our lands and water. We work rain or shine, so bring your sunscreen or rain gear! But bring gloves, a water bottle, and boots or sturdy shoes either way. Come outdoors and join the fun!
You can find activities suitable for all ages and abilities. See the event pages for details on activities and their locations/times.
