Race for the Rivers
Race for the Rivers is Greenway Network’s primary fundraising and environmental education event.
100% of the funds raised from this event go to support Greenway Network’s education, outreach, and conservation efforts throughout the year.
Race for the Rivers helps us with this goal: bringing people to the river. From participating in the race to taking a free paddle ride in our voyager class canoes, we strive to get everyone on, in, or near the water.
The Race
In an effort to make the canoe and kayak event accessible and fun for a wide variety of skill and competition levels, we offer two separate racing events: the 20-Mile Race and the 30-Mile Race (previously 40-Mile Race).
Race for the Rivers is for paddlers with any level of experience. Our goal is to get people down to the water and increase awareness of the cause.
The Festival
All are welcome to come out to enjoy live music, great food, and family-friendly, hands-on environmental educational activities at the annual Race for the Rivers Festival! The festival serves as the headquarters for the Race for the Rivers canoe/kayak races.
It’s the perfect place to keep tabs on the leaderboards as you mingle with the racers and peruse local food and crafts booths. Best of all, it’s a prime spot to watch the racers cross the flying finish line!
