After St Louis’ tornado on May 16, the work of cleaning up the bits and pieces of debris that cannot be scooped up by heavy machinery has to wait until the most urgent tasks of safely clearing streets, securing buildings, and meeting the physical and emotional needs of the citizens have been addressed. It is a huge task, and it is going to take a while.
In preparation for those clean-ups, the Team Leader Academy crew has been updating our list of materials that require special handling to include the sorts of things that we’re likely to find in greater quantities than usual. Learn how to prepare for this work as Greenway Network’s Board President, Charlene Waggoner, will cover what to look for, how to handle it, and who and when to call when it’s more than you can handle. Our goal is to get as many people as possible ready to join in the many calls that are coming for clean-up volunteers.
