Trash for Trees Pick Up
February 10 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
Cross-post for awareness: Trash for Trees is an environmental and beautification project organized by a local citizen activist based in St. Louis City. The goals of Trash for Trees project, which partners with Forest ReLeaf, are to work in specific city neighborhoods picking up trash and planting native trees on the yards of homeowners. With the help of local financial sponsors, Trash for Trees puts a price on the pieces of trash picked up. This means each piece of trash picked up helps fund the purchase of a tree that gets planted in a city neighborhood. Trees are provided through and planted by Forest ReLeaf staff and volunteers.
The trash goal in 2023 was to pick up 36,000 pieces of trash to raise enough funds to plant 60 trees. Check!
The trash goal for 2024 is to pick up 40,000 pieces of trash to fund 80 trees.
Trash for Trees’ Pick Up in The Patch Neighborhood on Saturday, Feb. 10, 10am-12pm. Meet in the parking lot next to the Off Track Saloon (7301 S. Broadway)
All volunteers need to do is show up with sturdy shoes/boots and some drinking water. Supplies will be provided including trash-grabbers. Please try to arrive 10 minutes early.
