If you are available, we will be assisting residents with picking up their trash and loading dumpsters on SATURDAY morning from 10 – noon.
We will be doing the same on MONDAY morning from 9 – 11 but we need volunteers who can stay on or arrive late until about 1 pm to help with the final post scouting clean up.
This year the the Annual Greg Poleski Clean up will take place on Martin Luther King Jr’s Day of Service, Monday January 19. It will be an urban clean up in North St Louis City in one of the communities hardest hit by the tornado. Check-in at 8:30. Safety talk at 9 am. Clean up will run until noon. You will be notified by email of the precise location once it has been confirmed. Remember that January clean ups are particularly affected by weather and conditions on the ground, so we often have to make last minute changes to ensure the safety of our volunteers and the success of the clean up.
This clean up has been made possible by a grant from the Mississippi Rivers Cities and Towns Initiative as part of a plastic reduction program. You can download the Marine Debris Tracker application and start entering plastic pollution data wherever you are. We will log as much plastic waste a possible from this clean up. https://debristracker.org/
